Fintiri, Bala, Ganduje’s wives, others win Most Valuable Governor’s Wife Awards (PHOTOS)

The 4th edition of the Most Valuable Governor’s Wife AWARD took place on Tuesday at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

The award, according to the organisers was designed to lead a new phenomenon in the assessment and recognition of the Governors wives who are providing complementary achievements to the Governors achievements.

This year’s edition of the MOST VALUABLE GOVERNOR’S WIFE’S AWARD was carefully packaged with COVID-19 guidelines.

Among the awardees were:

Hajia Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, wife of the governor of Adamawa state.

Hajia Fintiri, the organisers said was honoured for impacting lives with her Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation and its unique selling point of discouraging early marriages in Adamawa State.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, wife of the governor of Bauchi State was awarded for using her Al-Muhibba Foundation for empowering women in FCT/Bauchi State (She is a second time winner of the award).

Dr. Falmata Zulum, wife of the Governor of Borno State also won the award for her Multi Aids and Charity Initiatives and its unique selling point of sustainable cancer awareness at the grassroots.

Others were: Mrs. Rachael Umahi, wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, wife of the Governor of Edo State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the wife of the Ekiti State Governor with her Ekiti Development Foundation and its unique selling point of Agric and Economic Development owned by citizens of Ekiti State.

Hajia HadizaIsma El-Rufai, Dr. HafsatGanduje, wife of the Governor of Kano State, Hajiya Zakkiya Masari, wife of the Governor of Katsina State, Folake Abdulrazaq, wife of the governor of Kwara state, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, wife of the governor of Osun State, Mrs. Regina Lalong, Hajia Maryam M.A Tambuwal, wife of the governor of Sokoto State, Barr. Mrs. Anna Ishayku, wife of the governor of Taraba State as well as, Hajia Aisha Matawalle, wife of the governor of Zamfara State were honoured for their various empowerments programmes in their respective states.

On ground to receive their awards were Her Excellency, Hajiya Zakiya Masari, the wife of the Katsina State Governor and her Bauchi State counterpart, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed.

The Zamfara State First Lady was ably represented by Hajiya Sarah Babagana.

In is speech, Tom E. Obulu, Team Leader/ CEO said the 36 Governors wives and the wife of the FCT Minister are assessed based on their projects availabilities in the public domain and their impacts on their beneficiaries are considered.

Dr. Dikko U. Radda Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency in his keynote address said to alleviate poverty in Nigeria and Africa at large, youth have to engage in small businesses which will generate income for them instead of depending on government jobs which will take years to come.

Dikko was represented by Dr Friday Okpara at the event.
