A fire broke out early Monday morning, engulfing the market at Trademore Estate, located off the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Airport Road in Abuja.
While the cause of the fire remains unclear, residents believe it may have been sparked by an electrical fault. Joe, a local resident, said he was alerted to the fire around 4 a.m. and described the situation as tense.
Initial attempts to reach both the Federal Fire Service and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service were unsuccessful. However, residents managed to contact the fire service at Dunamis Church, who arrived at the scene around 5 a.m.
By 6 a.m., firefighters from the EFCC and Sauka stations had successfully brought the fire under control, two hours after it started.
