Fire guts Tinubu’s SDG office in Abuja
The office of the Special Adviser (SA) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) experienced a fire incident on Saturday. The Director of Communications at the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), M.A Ahmed, revealed that the fire affected the utility rooms from the second to the eighth floors of the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.
Providing details, Ahmed stated, “At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, a fire incident occurred at Block C of the Federal Secretariat, Phase II, Abuja. The fire originated from an explosion in the Electrical Utility Room on the 3rd Floor of Block C, designated as a Solar and Inverter Room by the current occupant, the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
He further reported that the situation was brought under control by the swift response of personnel from the Federal and FCT Fire Services around 5:00 p.m. The impact of the incident extended to the Utility Rooms on various floors, ranging from the second to the eighth, in the affected building.
Ahmed mentioned that during the operation, Permanent Secretaries from the Common Services Office-OHCSF, Mrs. Lydia S. Jafiya, and the Special Duties Office, Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo, along with Directors from the affected Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), were present at the scene.
