First Bank confirms unauthorised vanishing of N68m from customer’s account
In an official statement shared on their verified Instagram account, First Bank of Nigeria has officially recognized the distressing incident involving the disappearance of N68 million from the bank account of an Italy-based customer.
The unfortunate situation came to light when the customer, Glory Omokaro, reported the mysterious vanishing of N68 million from her account on the popular radio program “Brekete Family.” First Bank acknowledged the gravity of the matter and expressed their commitment to addressing it.
Glory Omokaro had diligently saved and accumulated N68 million in her First Bank account with the intention of using it upon her return to Nigeria. However, upon her arrival in May 2023, she was shocked to discover that her account balance had dwindled to a mere N3000.
In response, First Bank promptly initiated a thorough investigation into the incident. In their official statement, the bank affirmed their commitment to understanding the circumstances surrounding the occurrence and ensuring the customer’s satisfaction. While the resolution process has taken longer than anticipated, First Bank emphasized their dedication to upholding their operational integrity.
As a preliminary step, the bank has already taken measures to rectify the customer’s account based on their initial findings. First Bank expressed deep regret for any inconvenience caused to the customer and reiterated that the incident contradicts the ethical standards and principles that guide their operational practices.
