Five persons including police officers killed in Agatu

Reports reaching IDOMA VOICE says no fewer than five persons including police officers have been killed in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue.

According to multiple reports on social media, the killings were as a result of an altercation that ensued over a fish pond in the community.

It was not clear whether the police officers that were killed were murdered while trying to resolve the matter, or it was an attack on the security agents, but some reports suggested that the killings were not unconnected to the altercation that occurred in the area over a fish pond.

Efforts to reach a spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command to confirm the incident proved abortive as his telephone lines were unreachable as at the time of filing this report.
