Nigeria U17 women team beat Turkish club, Galatasary, 3-1 in a friendly match on Saturday, October 1 as they prepare for the U17 FIFA World Cup.
It was a good way to celebrate the independence day for the ladies as they cruised to a comfortable victory in Turkey.
Flamingoes departed Nigeria for Turkey to train for 10 days after releasing the 21-player list for the World Cup as they prepare to leave for the World Cup finals in India.
Nigeria got on the front foot in the 26th minute via a sublime strike from Opeyemi Ajakaye.
Eight minutes later Edidiong Etim increased the Flamingos’ lead but Ebru Topliv pulled one back for Galatasaray as the first half ended 2-1 in favor of Nigeria.
In the 77th minute, Etim scored her second of the game as the Flamingos held on to record a 3-1 victory.
