Fleeing driver crashes into stationary truck, dies

An unidentified driver lost his life in a tragic incident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as he attempted to escape a potential attack. The accident involved a blue Mercedes Benz truck with the license plate RBC110XJ and an ash Toyota Sienna car bearing the license plate EKY240HA.

The driver had initially collided with a commercial motorcyclist who was riding against the traffic. Fearing a possible confrontation, he sped off, only to collide with a stationary truck along the road, resulting in his unfortunate demise.

An eyewitness, Opeyemi Lateef, recounted, “I was in a bus behind the Sienna car when the car collided with a commercial motorcyclist riding against traffic. Perhaps, he believed he had injured the commercial motorcyclist. Instead of waiting to assess the motorcyclist’s condition, the driver hastily drove away and ultimately collided with the truck in front.”
