Flood: Agatu in dire need for urgent assistance (Photos)

By John Anthony IkwulonoThe recent flooding in Benue State has brought untold hardship on the people of Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.Villages, Schools, Hospitals, Farms as well as other properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed while residents of the affected villages have been rendered homeless.The situation requires urgent attention from both Federal and State Government and other Public spirited individuals to ameliorate the sufferings brought to the people.Almost all the Riverine areas including Oweto and other communities have been flooded. While farms at Okokolo, Aila, Egba, Obagaji and other communities in Agatu have been destroyed making the farmers hopeless especially now that harvest period is approaching.The Caretaker Chairman Agatu Local Government Council Hon Usman Alilu S who personally visited some of the affected communities and called for urgent assistance, equally brought some pictures as presented below to authenticate the authenticity of unfortunate situation caused by the flooding.Below are pictures from some of the scenes:
