Flying Eagles face tough test in 2025 U-20 AFCON group stage

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been handed a tough draw for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, where they will battle Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa in Group B.
The seven-time champions will look to build on their previous success, having edged Egypt 1-0 in the group stage of the last tournament.
Under the guidance of coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Flying Eagles are set to face Egypt in a double-header friendly later this month as part of their preparations.
Hosts Cote d’Ivoire find themselves in a competitive Group A alongside DR Congo, Ghana, Tanzania, and a yet-to-be-confirmed representative from the Central Africa zone.
Defending champions Senegal headline Group C, which also features Zambia and two tournament newcomers, Kenya and Sierra Leone.
The 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place in Cote d’Ivoire from April 26 to May 18.
