The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on Tuesday arraign former Abia State Governor, Dr Orji Kalu, before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The former Governor would be arraigned before Justice Inyang Ekwo over alleged N7.1 billion fraud.
Recall that Kalu was earlier found guilty and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the Lagos State High Court.
The trial court convicted him alongside his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited and a former Director of Finance in Abia State, Jones Udeogu, for allegedly stealing about N7.1billion from the state treasury.
IDOMA VOICE recalls that the supreme court revoked his conviction and ordered his retrial by the EFCC, stressing that the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, was already elevated to the Court of Appeal, as at the time he sat and delivered judgement against the former Governor.
