Former PDP state assembly candidate, Ochi Igbabe among those killed in Otobi-Akpa attack
Hon. Ochi Igbabe, the 2019 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidate, was among those killed in the Tuesday’s herdsmen attack on Otobi-Akpa, a community in Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State.
IDOMA VOICE reports that gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have once again struck Otobi-Akpa, killing at least four residents in a midnight assault.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants, who were heavily armed, invaded the community at around 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, firing sporadically and forcing residents to flee for safety.
The attack, which lasted for several hours, claimed the lives of Hon. Ochi Igbabe, Eje Uzu, Alinko, and Achibi, while several other residents remain unaccounted for as of the time of filing this report. 
Since losing the House of Assembly election to Baba Odeh in 2019, Igbabe had lived a private life in his home, engaging in farming and local politics.
His death has plunged many residents and political associates into untold mourning.
