Four killed as suspected Fulani herdsmen attack another Benue community

At least four persons have been killed and many others injured after gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen reportedly, attacked Ayilamo community, in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Paul Akase, a resident of Ayilamo, who said he escaped death by whiskeds, said that the gunmen stormed the community and started shooting sporadially when people were fast asleep.
“They came in a large number, started shooting sporadically.

“Many who were fast asleep were confused when they woke up.

“They started running for safety; stray bullets hit some of them,” he said.

A community leader, who pleaded anonymity, gave the names of the four victims as: Vaachia Hangeior, Abako Kpeibee, Mtomga Akpi and David Akave.

The police spokesperson in the State, SP Catherine Anene did not pick her calls when contacted for a confirmation of the incident.
