Four slaughtered, many others injured as gunmen attack Katsina

Bandits have killed four people, three males, one female and injured many others in Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, reports are saying.

The killing occurred Sunday at about 9 pm.

According to sources, the gunmen attacked the community with high-class weapons and were said to have moved from house to house, taking the properties of the households. It was said that the bandits operated for more than an hour. The residents lamented that the shutdown of mobile networks made them unable to call for help.

The northwest part of the country has suffered in the hands of bandits since over a year ago. More than 200 people have been killed in the last four months by bandits related activity. Last week, two police officers were killed in a confrontation with bandits in Safana Council Area, Katsina State.
