Liverpool’s iconic figure, Robbie Fowler, has issued a cautionary message to the Reds, indicating that there’s a possibility of Mohamed Salah departing from the club during this summer transfer window.
Despite securing a crucial victory in the Premier League against Newcastle United over the weekend, Liverpool faces the potential departure of their star striker.
Fowler, who currently holds a coaching position in the Saudi second division, openly acknowledges that he wouldn’t find it surprising if Salah decides to make a move to Saudi Arabia, specifically to join Al-Ittihad.
In an article for The Mirror, the former Liverpool striker expressed, “In the event that he expresses the desire to seek new horizons, it’s likely that he will eventually depart.”
Fowler emphasized that observers should remain prepared for this development possibly occurring within the upcoming one to two weeks, as the Saudi transfer window extends beyond the closure of the Premier League window (until September 20).
He reflected on his previous predictions, mentioning, “In earlier discussions, I highlighted the potential for a significant offer to be extended for Salah. This arises from the fact that there exists a scarcity of players worldwide possessing his remarkable attributes, and numerous financially potent clubs are fervently in pursuit of such talents.”
Importantly, Fowler wanted to underscore his allegiance to Liverpool, stating, “It’s vital to emphasize that I’ve also communicated my personal desire for him to remain. As an ardent Liverpool supporter, my ultimate wish is to witness him concluding his career at Anfield… an endeavor that entails surpassing any remaining records I hold there and triumphing over the all-time club benchmarks, a feat he’s currently on track to achieve.”
