Francis Ottah Agbo hails Idoma TV for naming newsroom after the late Dan Agbese
Former member of the House of Representatives for Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Francis Ottah Agbo, has commended the management of Idoma Voice and Television Limited for naming its newsroom after the late veteran journalist, Dan Agbese.
Ottah, who is a senatorial aspirant in Benue South on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Abuja office of the media organisation, publishers of Idoma Voice newspaper and owners of Idoma Television.
He praised the outfit for consistently projecting the Idoma story in a positive light, describing the late Newswatch Editor-in-Chief as “an editor of editors” who inspired a generation of journalists.
“I am happy that a segment of the studio is named after the legendary Chief Dan Agbese, the editor of editors. May the Lord bless his soul,” he said.
Ottah also acknowledged another section of the newsroom named after his former employer, Michael Awoyinfa of The Sun Newspaper, noting that the gesture reflects a deep respect for media icons.
“I’m very happy for that honour. I’m glad your organisation remembers these icons, especially Chief Dan Agbese, whose inspiring journey in journalism propelled some of us to pick up the pen. I’m truly delighted to be here,” he added.
Idoma Voice and Television has recently expanded its media space to enhance smooth and efficient news production, content delivery, and overall broadcast operations.
The development is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its capacity for quality journalism and improved audience engagement across its platforms.
The CEO/Editor-in-Chief, Ameh Godwin, while responding, also disclosed that the official commissioning of the upgraded facility will take place in due course.
