The Honourable Member, House of Representatives, representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Dr Francis Ottah Agbo has distributed hand sanitizers, soaps, detergents and other items to Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo Local Government Areas to prevent the deadly Corona Virus in his constituency.
The Honourable Member who was represented by Hon James Oche the former Caretaker Chairman of Ado Local Government told the people that Dr Francis Ottah Agbo has sacrificed his two months salaries in support of the Federal Government campaign against Covid 19 and has other plans to support to the figure against the global pandemic.
Hon Oche while presenting the items to the three Council Chairmen said mankind is faced with a big challenge codename Covid 19 which has ravaged the Western World and if we are not careful it will finish the developing countries.
He urged the people to be watchful and report to the appropriate authorities when they notice anyone with difficulty in breathing, high fever and persistent cough. He urge them to call Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) numbers 080097000010 because Covid 19 is real!
Hon Oche use the event to sensitize the grassroot on personal hygiene and admonished them to wash their hands periodically with soaps, detergents, sanitize their hands, keep social distancing, avoid hand shakes.
The Acting Caretaker Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Dr Amali Anuga Owoicho while responding thanked the Honourable Member for the contribution to save lives of his constituents and promised to ensure the items gets to the nook and cranny of the local government.
The Acting Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Hon Frank Ochigbo said he knows that the gesture will come from the Honourable Member because he has never turn his back on his people. He appealed to other spirited individuals to contribute to the fight against the global pandemic.
The Third Class Chief of Edumoga, HRH Ojoh Emmanuel Ochechema who spoke on behalf of the Enone Traditional Council said they appreciate the contribution of Dr Francis Ottah Agbo towards the fight against Covid 19 and pray God to reward him. He used the opportunity to charge the law enforcement agencies to monitor markets and other social gathering to avert the spread of the deadly virus.
