A Zimbabwean teacher has become the focus of national attention after her arrest over a viral video allegedly depicting her in an inappropriate situation with a 16-year-old student.

The teacher, identified as 33-year-old Cindy, was taken into custody shortly after the footage began circulating widely on social media.

The video’s emergence has triggered intense public outcry, with many insisting that the case must be handled strictly as a child-protection matter.

Advocates argue that the conversation should centre on safeguarding minors, stressing that debates about the student’s school performance or conduct distract from the seriousness of the allegations.
