FRSC confirms death of University of Mkar lecturers, 5 others in Benue fatal accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of seven persons, including two lecturers from University of Mkar in a luciferious accident, which occurred at Gbatse Village in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue on Saturday.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the accident at about 3:pm, when a trailer truck ran into a stationary Toyota car with registration number MKD-300-NH thereby crushing seven passengers to death.

A searched on some documents recovered from scene of the accident identified two University of Mkar Lecturers in persons of Mr. Leva Joshua of Mass Communication Department and Moses Tarnongo as victims of the accident.

Confirming the ugly incident, the FRSC Public Enlightenment Officer in the state, DRC Joyce Akura, told newsmen in Makurdi that the dead bodies were already deposited at a morgue in Ushongo.

She said, “Twelve passengers were involved in the crash; nine were males, three females.

“The accident was between two vehicles, a Man-diesel truck with registration number WKR496XA and a Toyota car with registration number MKD300NH,’’ Akura said.
