Fubara: Peter Odili has reduced himself to ridiculous level – Wike

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticized former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, for recent comments about his principal.

Odili, during a Christmas ballad he organized in honor of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his family, alleged that Fubara had courageously prevented Wike from turning Rivers State into his personal estate. He praised the incumbent governor for standing firm against what he described as an unnecessary and aggressive political tussle orchestrated by Wike.

In response, Olayinka took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle to express disappointment in Odili’s remarks. He accused the former governor of abandoning the role of an elder statesman and engaging in partisan commentary.

“I read the comments made by the former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, today, and I can’t but be disappointed that someone who should be acting like an elder statesman can reduce himself to such a ridiculous level of partisanship,” Olayinka wrote.

He also hinted that Wike would address Odili’s statements soon, adding, “Well, he will get his deserved response from the FCT Minister in due course.”
