Fubara agreed to remove SSG, Chief of Staff in deal with Wike — Robinson Ewor

Former Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has claimed that the removal of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Benibo Anabraba, and the Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, by Governor Siminalayi Fubara was part of agreements reached with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Governor Fubara had, on February 26, removed Anabraba and Ehie from their respective positions, a development that sparked reactions within the state’s political circles.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV on Thursday, Ewor alleged that the sack of the two officials was one of the outcomes of negotiations between Fubara and Wike following the conclusion of the state of emergency imposed on Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.

According to the former PDP leader, the governor reached several agreements with the FCT Minister, including the decision to remove the SSG and Chief of Staff from office.

Ewor further alleged that Fubara agreed during the negotiations not to seek a second term in office, accusing the governor of misleading his supporters.

“The governor made several agreements with Wike, including removing the Chief of Staff and the SSG from office,” he said.

The latest development comes after Fubara, on Tuesday, announced his return to Wike’s political camp and urged his supporters to back candidates endorsed by the FCT Minister in the forthcoming general elections.
