FUHSO: How to get admission into Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo

Following the announcement of the commencement of admission of students into the Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo, IDOMA VOICE has obtained how students can get admission into the premier institution.

1) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who chose FUSHO as their first choice and met all the prescribed requirements of the university programmes as specified in the JAMB brochure for the respective course.

2) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who did not apply to FUSHO as their first choice but wish to change that, may do so. But must meet the prescribed requirements of the university programmes as specified in the JAMB brochure for the respective course.

3) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who applied for the following programmes:

College of Medicine (MBBS Medicine and Surgery, BSC Biochemistry, BSC Biology, BSC Microbiology, BSC Biostatistics, BSC Computer Science, BSC mathematics, BSC Physics.

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo is a world class specialized University that will train and produce high quality healthcare professionals that will contribute to the development of the health sector in Nigeria, and the University will be equipped with state of the art equipment for research and teaching. It will be the first of its kind to be established by the Federal Government after realizing that the number of healthcare professionals in the country is grossly inadequate for the populace. It has been estimated that it will take the country 120 years to produce the number of doctors required to meet the needs of the nation based on the available universities offering medicine in Nigeria. Therefore, by establishing the University the country will be heading towards solving its healthcare challenges within a few years.
