Prof. Innocent Uja, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Science, Otukpo in Benue State on Friday disclosed that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has injected N3 billion into the institution to boost infrastructure and strengthen staff development policy.
The Vice-Chancellor while briefing journalists at the temporary site of the institution at Otada, a suburb of Otukpo, Otukpo local government area of Benue State, explained that the institution was listed among beneficiaries of TETFund intervention and it has gotten N3 billion to boost infrastructure and staff strength development policy.
According to the VC, construction of infrastructure at the permanent site of the institution has since commenced and assured that the institution will relocate to the permanent site before the end of 2023.
“The support we have received from TETFund, the institution’s infrastructure is adequate to start with respect to office spaces, classrooms, lecture theatres, laboratories furniture, etc.
“With the support of TETFund, we are strengthening our staff development policy. Arrangements have been concluded to send our young lecturers for further training.
“We were listed among beneficiaries of TETfund intervention and it has paid off. In fact, we have benefitted worth N3 billion from TETfund,” the VC disclosed.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated President Muhammad Buhari and former President Goodluck Jonathan, who established the university.
The VC also commended the former president of the Senate, David Mark, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and others, whom he said contributed to making the dream of the establishment of the university a reality.
