The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo, FUHSO, Prof. Innocent Ujah, mni, and his team Wednesday paid a visit to New Vision Institute of Technology (NVIT), in Otukpo LGA OF Benue State. The Vice-Chancellor and his team including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, DVC, Admin – Prof. Ediga Agbo, Bursar – Prince John Aba, and other retinue of the University were received by the Vice President, VP, of the Institute, Engr. Abraham Enoh.
While taking the team on a tour of the state-of-the-art facility through the complex by the VP, the visibly elated Vice-Chancellor, interacted with staff and students of the institute and expressed delight at the convergence of students, which cut across the length and breadth of Nigeria to acquire skills. He enthused that having an institution such as this in Otukpo is a blessing as both FUHSO and the institute will be interweaving.
Furthering, the august visitor noted that the standard of the institute can compete with its contemporaries in the world, reiterating that the location (Otukpo) speaks volume putting into cognizance the financial, developmental, and infrastructural impact on Benue South Senatorial District and Nigeria as a whole.
The University Boss, professed that, FUHSO, as a specialized University stands to gain more from the institution hence it offers Computer Science as a course and believes in the role of software technology in the future of the University. He expressed optimism that there would be a mutually beneficial collaboration between FUHSO and NVIT, emphasizing that the University would work towards offering scholarships to deserving staff.
On his part, the VP informed that the Institute can be aptly described as a tail-blazer in providing career development, advanced technical training, and pre-professional programmes for high school students and adults. It offers over 100 areas of skills training in a state-of-the-art facility. NVIT, provides workforce and industrial relevant educational programmes and credentials to high school students, adults, incumbent workers, and business/industry. It is a fully blended learning approach integrating theory and extensive hands-on practical experience institute with state-of-the-art laboratories.
