Management and Association of Computer Science Student debunk: University student expel for impregnating lecturer
In view of the news published by several online blogs on Tuesday 26th November, 2019 with title “University student expels for impregnating lecturer”. The University management released a Press Release through Abubakar Ibrahim, Head, Information and Public Relations disputing the news making the round on the social media about a Computer Science student being expelled from the university for impregnating his lecturer.
The Press Release read thus: “The attention of Management of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has been drawn to a story which has gone viral on the social media to the effect that one “Kevin,” said to be a student of Computer Science Department of FULafia, has impregnated a lecturer of the department.
This story cannot be further away from falsehood. Therefore, the Management wishes to state categorically that the story is nothing but a fabrication by the writer, mischievous and aimed at destroying the good image and reputation of Federal University of Lafia because no such incident has happened in the university.
The general public is hereby advised to disregard the purported story.
The Management of Federal University of Lafia will continue to maintain high moral standard in the university.”
In view of the above the Nigeria Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS), Federal University of Lafia Chapter has also released a statement through Zinwota Timothy Ayobami (President) refuting the story making the round on the social media of a student in their department expelled for impregnating one of their female lecturers.
The association statement read thus: “The administrators of the Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students, Federal University of Lafia Chapter have noticed the ongoing rave over a published story that one “Kevin”, said to be a student of the Department of Computer Science FUlafia, impregnated a lecturer of the department.
We stand to debunk this awful story and to state that no event of such occurred in our university. The picture in circulation was craftily designed with the breakyourownnews.com application by someone with sinister intentions of tarnishing the image of our beloved department and institution at large.
We urge the general public to disregard this information and join us as we continue to uphold the decent image of our school.”
