Fulani herdsmen say Benue State Livestock Guard is illegal

A former leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Benue State chapter, Alhaji Garus Gololo, has declared as illegal the Benue State Livestock Guard.

Gololo was responding to a recent comment by Governor Samuel Ortom that the proposed Miyetti Allah Vigilante group is illegal.

Responding during a chat with newsmen on Sunday, Gololo insisted that the proposed Miyetti Allah Vigilante Group would be the best thing to happen to any Fulani socio-cultural group.

He said, “If Miyetti Allah Vigilante group is illegal, then Benue State Livestock Guard is illegal. Fulani socio-cultural group has the constitutional right to form a group that can protect their members.”
