Fulani herdsmen vs Akeredolu: Ondo govt calls for immediate arrest of Miyetti Allah’s spokesman

The Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Pastor Akin Olotu, has called for the immediate arrest of the spokesman to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Ondo State chapter.

Olotu said the call became imperative following the group’s flagrant disobedient to the state’s order.

According to the SSA, all the ethnic groups in the state have registered their association but the Miyetti Allah’s group has failed to comply.

Olotu, while speaking on Channels TV Sunrise Daily and monitored by IDOMA VOICE, said the state has not rescinded its decision on the seven-day ultimatum given to cattle breeders to leave is forest reserves.

He said, “I think members of the Miyetti Allah group are biting more than they could chew. They are the only group giving us problem in this state.

“It would interest you to note that we have several ethnic groups and associations in Ondo, including Igala, Tiv, Idoma, Igede, Igbo, who have all registered with the state government but the Fulani herdsmen have refused to obey.

“I think the spokesperson to the Miyetti Allah group should be arrested.”
