President Bola Tinubu has given his official consent to appoint three new Executive Commissioners to serve on the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), along with the reassignment of a current Executive Commissioner, pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. The appointments are as follows:
Mr. Bashir Indabawa — North-West — Executive Commissioner, Exploration & Acreage Management
Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu — South-East — Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services & Administration (Redeployed)
Mr. Enorense Amadasu — South-South — Executive Commissioner, Development & Production
Additionally, Mr. Babajide Fasina — South-West — has been appointed as the Executive Commissioner for Economic Regulation & Strategic Planning.
These changes have been approved by the President as part of a comprehensive strategy to establish a regulatory framework and promote a culture within the industry that discourages misconduct while encouraging diligence and adherence to established business practices.
