Niger State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of Dr. Funmilola Adefolalu, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, at the hands of an alleged assailant.
This confirmation comes from a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, on Monday in Minna.
Abiodun disclosed that the incident occurred on Sunday, with the victim losing her life in her residence in the Gbaiko area of Minna.
“On Oct. 29, at about 1000hrs, some friends of Dr Funmilola Adefolalu, a lecturer at “FUT Minna visited her residence in Gbaiko Area of Minna due to their inability to get her on phone.
“Unfortunately on getting to the house, the visitors met her lying in a pool of her own blood with marks of injury on her body,”he said.
He stated that two knives, bearing bloodstains and believed to be the weapons used in her stabbing by unidentified individuals, were discovered at the location.
The spokesperson mentioned that the deceased’s body was transported to the Ibrahim Babangida Specialist Hospital in Minna, where her demise was officially confirmed.
He further added that the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
