Galatasaray in talks to sign Crystal Palace star, Wilfried Zaha

Turkish club Galatasaray have officially confirmed that they are in negotiations to sign talented forward Wilfried Zaha, who is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Crystal Palace last month.

Galatasaray made the announcement on Twitter, stating, “Formal negotiations have been initiated with professional footballer Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha regarding the transfer of the footballer to our club.”

The Ivory Coast international has attracted interest from several clubs, with Crystal Palace reportedly offering him an enticing contract to stay at Selhurst Park.

Zaha, who returned to Palace after a short stint with Manchester United in 2015, has been a key figure for the Eagles, making 458 appearances and netting 89 goals.

Despite the club’s strong desire to retain the versatile attacker, the South London club’s manager, Roy Hodgson, made it clear at the end of last season that he hoped Zaha would continue to be a part of their squad for the upcoming campaign.

“I would like him to stay,” Hodgson expressed, emphasizing his admiration for Wilf and his interest in the club. “I would hope, from the club’s point of view, that he accepts the offer on the table and decides his future lies here.”
