Over 20 houses have been burn down by unknown gunmen in an attack on Sankera, Ukum LGA of Benue State.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the attack followed the killing of a gang leader, Terwase Akwaza, by security men some months back in the area.
A resident of the area, Dr. Malu, called for dialogue among aggrieved parties.
He said, “My deep sympathy goes out to the people in Sankera especially communities devastated by reprisal attacks from both security personnel and unknown gun men. These are offshoots from the killing of a Gang leader some weeks back which some of us condemned.
“Violence cannot be settled by more violence and I therefore request all parties to find a common ground to end these destructions. Dialogue is always the sure way to Peace.”
