The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, pledges to safeguard the party’s mandate in Nasarawa State.
Recalling that the Nasarawa governorship election petitions tribunal invalidated Abdullahi Sule’s governorship and declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful governor of Nasarawa State, the APC national chairman remains resolute that his party emerged victorious in the March 18 polls and is determined to defend its electoral win.
Speaking during a reception organized to honor the Nasarawa State Chairman of the APC, Aliyu Bello, at the City Hall in Lafia, Ganduje affirmed the party’s victory, stating unequivocally, “We have won the election, and we shall protect our mandate. There is no doubt about it. Nasarawa State belongs to APC, and APC belongs to Nasarawa State. We are in charge, and we will continue to be in charge by the grace of God.”
Represented by the National Vice Chairman (North Central), Alhaji Muazu Rijau, the APC national chairman made his stance clear on safeguarding the party’s mandate.
In attendance were Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule; his immediate predecessor, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura; and Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (Nasarawa West), along with other dignitaries. They commended the leadership qualities of Bello, emphasizing the significant role he plays within the APC in Nasarawa State.
Governor Sule acknowledged that Nasarawa State witnessed genuine development from 2011 onwards, especially with the emergence of the defunct Congress Progressives Change (CPC), which later merged with other parties to form the APC. He emphasized the crucial role played by Aliyu Bello, stating, “The presence of everyone that I have seen here makes it easier for us to be able to achieve our goals. In reality, APC is Aliyu Bello, and Aliyu Bello is APC.”
