Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has expressed hope that the ongoing construction work on the Gbajimba-Daudu road will be completed by mid 2022.
Governor Ortom stated this Monday, 18th October, 2021 while inspecting construction work on the road shortly after the virtual commissioning of the model classroom blocks built at the Government Technical College, Gbajimba.
According to the Governor who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Alexander Shaapera and other members of the State executive council also expressed satisfaction that the construction of bridges and culverts was almost completed, pointing out that the road when completed, would improve on the economy of the local government and support the fight against insecurity.
The over 70 kilometers road that traverses Kaseyo, Tse-Akenyi, Umenger and Uikpam costs N3.5 billion amd is being constructed by Triacta Construction Company Nigeria Limited.
Governor Ortom who also inspected the ongoing construction work on Gbajimba-Tse-Akaahena road which terminates at the boundary between Benue and Nasarawa, expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far.
He stated that as the rains subsides, work on the road would hopefully be completed within a month and be ready for commissioning.
The Governor explained that the two roads when completed, would make security surveillance easier and rapid response to distressed calls.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to continue to provide basic amenities such as roads, water and electricity to the people of the state.
