Rt. Hon. George Alli, the Executive Chairman, Otukpo Local Government Council, on Monday, attended the funeral of the mother of Deputy Leader, Otukpo Legislative Assembly and Councilor Representing Adoka-Ehaje, Hon. Daniel Obiabo, where he consoled him.
Hon. Alli, accompanied by the Leader of the Otukpo Legislative Assembly, Hon. Enokela Alegwu and other Councilors from other wards, told Hon. Obiabo to give thanks to God, despite the pain, as the Bible admonishes all Christians to do.
Hesaid he would have been at the funeral much earlier, but for some important official engagements in Makurdi, he couldn’t, encouraged Hon. Obiabo to stay strong, even though it is painful to loose a loving mother.
The Chairman, said with the large turnout of people during the burial and the character of Hon. Obiabo, is a proof that Mama lived a good life. He prayed God to accept Mama’s soul and to comfort the entire Obiabo’s family over the loss.
Hon. Daniel Obiabo, in his response, thanked Hon. George Alli for honouring him with his presence at his mother’s funeral. He said he is short of words that are deep enough to convey his gratitude to the Chairman for his massive support to him from the time of his mother’s death to the time of her burial. He prayed God to bless, replenish and to protect the Otukpo Local Government Chairman for always.
Elders and youths who equally spoke after the burial, praised Hon. Alli for being an exemplary leader who keeps touching people’s lives in many ways.
