The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. George Alli, has mourned the death of Ex-Super Eagles Striker and Manager of Lobi Stars FC, Barnabas Imenger.
He said he received the news of his death with great shock and sadness.
In his words:”I was deeply saddened by the news of Barnabas Imenger’s death this morning. The news is shocking and painful!. His death is a big loos, not only to Benue state; to the whole country, because he served this country at the national level”.
“I visited him in the hospital with some officials of Lobi Stars last weekend and he was in high spirit. May God accept his soul and comfort his family, especially his aged mother”, the Otukpo Council Chairman prayed.
According to Austin Tyowua, media officer of Lobi Stars, “It is true that we lost our team manager 3am at the Abuja national hospital today,”
Imenger was a former Super Eagles striker in the mid-90s. He was part of the Super Eagles team that played at the 1995 FIFA Confederations Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Imenger was appointed team manager of Lobi Stars in 2013.
