Ghana to hang two Nigerians, Udoetuk Wills, John Oji for abducting, killing four girls

Two Nigerians, Samuel Udoetuk Wills and John Oji, were on Friday, sentenced to death by hanging by a Ghanaian high court for kidnap and murder of four girls.

The Sekondi High Court found them guilty of kidnapping and eventually killing the four girls, Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Priscilla Koranchie and Ruth Abekah, aged 18 years in Takoradi, Ghana.

They have been in detention since 2019 after the bodies of the girls were said to have been discovered in their apartment following months of a national search for the victims.

The two Nigerians who were facing trial for conspiracy to commit murder and murder, pleaded not guilty.

However, Justice Richard Adjei-Frimpong-led court found them guilty and sentenced them to death by hanging.

They were later given 30 days within which they can appeal the sentence.
