Give every Nigerian AK 47, we’ll no longer run from terrorists – Fani-Kayode tell FG

A former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has responded to a statement by Defence Minister Maj- Gen. Bashir Magashi, that Nigerians should stand and face terrorists whenever they attack them.

Magashi had on Wednesday said he’s still in shock that Nigerians often took to their heels on hearing gunshots fired by bandits who sometimes strike with only three rounds of ammunition.

”Is it (security issue) the responsibility of the military alone? We shouldn’t be cowards,” Magashi added while reacting to the news of the killing of a student and abduction of 27 of his colleagues from a government college in Niger State.

Responding, Fani-Kayode said he should equip every Nigerian with an AK-47 rifle and they will no longer run from terrorists.

He tweeted, “The Defence Minister says Nigerians are cowards, that they always run when attacked by terrorists & that they should defend & protect themselves.

“Does he know that it is HIS job to protect the people & he failed?

“Equip every Nigerian with an AK 47 & see if they will still run.”
