Glamour Girls: How my pastor suspended me after acting nude scene with Eucharia Anunobi – Zack Orji
Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji revealed that his pastor suspended him after he starred in the popular 1990s film, ‘Glamour Girls’.
According to report, Orji performed a nude scene with co-star Eucharia Anunobi, which negatively affected his marital life.
The award-winning actor explained that many people were feeding his wife negative stories about him, leading to his suspension by his pastor. Orji shared these details on the podcast ‘Nollywood Hardcore: The Legend’s Untold Story.’
The 1994 film ‘Glamour Girls,’ directed by Chika Onukwufor, tells the story of independent single women navigating their way in Nigeria’s traditionally patriarchal society through escorting. The film depicts young women engaging in prostitution as they strive to achieve their dreams while contending with societal expectations.
Recounting the impact of the movie on his life, Orji told podcast host Emmanuel Ehumadu, also known as Labista, that his pastor received many disturbing reports about the scene. Orji recalled, “Back then, in the 90s before the 2000s, I was married. Even though my wife is an actress, people were putting a lot of things in her mind.”
He added, “After the movie was released, my pastor invited me and said he had been receiving too many calls. He wanted to suspend me but informed me first. He said it would remain between us.
While I was filming in Ikeja GRA, a guy named Alex, who worked with Punch Newspapers, approached me on set and asked, ‘I just want to confirm before going to the press: is it true that you have been suspended by your church?’ I asked, ‘Who told you that?’”
