Former Manchester City manager, Stuart Pearce, has offered his advice to Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, suggesting that he should consider a move to Premier League rival West Ham United. Pearce believes that Maguire is not currently wanted by Manchester United and that joining West Ham could be a great opportunity for him.
The England international has found himself down the pecking order in Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s selection of defenders. This has sparked speculation about his future at the club, with recent reports linking him to West Ham United and Aston Villa.
Speaking on talkSPORT about Maguire’s situation at Manchester United, Pearce expressed his belief that the center-back would be a perfect fit for West Ham. He said, “For me, he [Maguire] is an absolute no-brainer for any team. West Ham, 100 percent. You go where you are wanted. You go where you are loved, and if that is West Ham or wherever… he’d be a very great addition.”
Pearce’s suggestion comes at a time when Maguire’s future at Manchester United appears uncertain. The defender was recently stripped of the club captaincy, raising further questions about his role in the team.
Harry Maguire joined Manchester United from Leicester City in 2019 for a reported fee of £80 million, making him one of the world’s most expensive defenders at the time. Since then, he has been a regular starter for the Red Devils, but recent developments have cast doubt on his long-term future at the club.
West Ham United and Aston Villa are said to be monitoring Maguire’s situation closely, and it remains to be seen if either club will make a move for the talented center-back.
