Former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has joined the ongoing debate over who is the greatest footballer of all time (GOAT) between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bale, who played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid following his £85 million move from Tottenham in 2013, chose Ronaldo over Messi during a blind ranking challenge on YouTube with Futcrunch. The Welshman placed Ronaldo in the No. 1 spot and Messi in second.
Bale, who won three La Liga titles with Ronaldo during their time at Real Madrid, retired from football last year after representing Wales at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
