‘God gives, takes away life’ – Gov Alia comforts senator Abba Moro after losing Sson, grandson
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed deep sympathy to the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, following the tragic loss of his son, Victor Moro, and his grandson, Abba Moro Jr.
In a condolence message released on Tuesday in Makurdi through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor described the incident as heartbreaking and deeply distressing.
He said the passing of both family members within just a day was “painful and devastating,” adding that “anyone who believes in humanity will be touched by the double tragedy.”
Governor Alia encouraged Senator Moro, his family, as well as the people of Benue South Senatorial District and the entire state, to find solace in God’s will, acknowledging that He alone “gives and takes away life.”
According to the statement, “The governor also prayed to God to grant the departed souls eternal rest.”
Victor Moro had recently returned to Nigeria after completing his studies in Turkey, intending to begin his National Youth Service Corps programme.
Sadly, he lost his life in a car accident along the Mararaba axis in Nasarawa State, barely 24 hours after the burial of his father’s grandson.
