God has abandoned the ruling party – Aregbesola
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday launched a fresh criticism of the ruling party, asserting that its failures stem from the fact that “God is not with them because they didn’t start with God.”
Speaking in Osogbo during the official unveiling of the ADC, Aregbesola addressed supporters on the state of the nation, accusing the current administration of selfishness, incompetence and pushing the country deeper into economic hardship, insecurity and poor governance.
“They tried their best but God is not with them because they didn’t start with God. They are selfish. They have been disgraceful in the economy, security, governance and more,” he said.
Aregbesola declared that the ruling party has lost moral credibility and public support nationwide. He also expressed confidence that the next election would not be manipulated, insisting that the old rigging tactics would fail.
“They cannot rig the election. We know their tactics. Go and start taking good care of elderly women, dress them well and let them sit in tens at polling units on election day — leave the rest to us,” he told supporters.
He warned that any attempt to tamper with the electoral process would face strong resistance from both the people and divine judgment.
Aregbesola maintained that the ADC remains the most credible alternative to rescue Nigeria from poverty, hunger, maladministration and growing insecurity. He described the event as symbolic, marking 15 years since he was sworn in as governor in the same location.
The former governor predicted that the ADC would reclaim Osun and make significant gains nationally.
“By August next year, we will certainly meet in Abere; after August, we will take over the presidency,” he declared.
According to him, his legacy continues to resonate strongly with the people of Osun State.
“There is nowhere in Osun that the people do not acknowledge what we represent. Our achievements and legacies continue to speak for us, which is why we always receive such warm reception, especially in Osogbo,” he said.
Aregbesola insisted that the enthusiastic support of residents proves the ADC remains a strong force in Osun’s political landscape.
