Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, yesterday received a loud ovation at the dinner organized by Christ the Redeemer’s Friends international in Victoria Island, Lagos, following an inspiring narration of the story of his life.
Governor Ortom who was invited as a Special Guest Testifier, took the gathering on a motivational lane of his struggles as a young man through the success story of his business and political careers.
His message was targeted at encouraging the young generation not to be overwhelmed by their current difficult situation as determination and trust in God ultimately pay.
He said men had vowed to stop him from becoming Governor but in the end, God’s will triumphed.
The Governor urged the people to draw closer to God and remain faithful to him in whatever condition they find themselves. He cited the deficit situation he met Benue but refused to be weighed down by the challenge and the faith in God shown by his administration is already yielding results.
Speaking on the theme ‘The Path to Greatness’, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, said achievements are not measured by the number of assets or the size of bank account that people own but by the number of lives they impact.
He urged the people to obey God and not let the things of the world prevent them from realising their full potential as directed by the Creator of heaven and earth.
Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi was also a Special Guest Testifier at the dinner.
