On Thursday, August 03, 2023, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, officially inaugurated the Visitation Panel to Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi. The ceremony took place at the Old Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi.
Represented by his Deputy, Barr. Sam Ode, Governor Alia charged the panel members with a crucial task: to conduct a comprehensive investigation, delve into the details, and make recommendations that will contribute to the advancement of the institution.
Highlighting the importance of education, the Governor emphasized that a strong educational institution is the cornerstone of a prosperous society. He expressed his trust in the professionalism and expertise of the panel members, urging them to approach their assignment with diligence, impartiality, and thoroughness.
Governor Alia called upon the University management and staff to extend their full cooperation and support to the Visitation Panel, recognizing that their collective efforts will be pivotal in the success of the investigation and the subsequent recommendations.
In response, the chairman of the Visitation Panel, Prof. Gabriel Moti, expressed gratitude to the Governor for entrusting them with this noble task. He assured the Governor and the people of Benue State that the panel members would be thorough, methodical, fair, and transparent in discharging their duties.
The Visitation Panel comprises esteemed individuals, including Prof. Kwaghkondo Agber, Comrade Igyeegye Peter, Prof. Christy Okoja, Mr. Sam Yuwa, Prof. Okpeh Okpeh, and Barr. Simon Orkuma, who serves as the member/Secretary.
With Governor Alia’s strong commitment to education and the dedication of the Visitation Panel, the future of Benue State University looks promising, and the findings and recommendations of the panel are eagerly awaited to pave the way for progress and growth in the institution.
