The Governor of Benue State, Reverend Father Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has pledged to enhance the quality of education for Benue children by upgrading public primary schools.
Governor Alia made this announcement on Saturday, March 23, 2024, while delivering a goodwill message at the wedding ceremony of Barrister Betty Mbapirin Ayaka and the Ter Kunav, His Royal Highness Nyiyongo Achiaku, held at ECWA, No. 1 J.S. Tarka Way, Makurdi.
Expressing his joy at attending the event and witnessing the union between the Ter Kunav and the Mother of the Kunav nation, Governor Alia congratulated the couple. He emphasized that the union between a man and a woman is a divine gift, with every aspect of married life symbolizing their union with Christ.
Acknowledging the prayers offered by the congregation for the success of his administration, Governor Alia highlighted the achievements of his tenure thus far. He promised to revamp the public primary schools across the state and revive large-scale farming initiatives. Additionally, he mentioned plans to focus on rural areas by improving feeder roads in local communities.
Governor Alia expressed deep concern over the insecurity affecting eight local government areas in Benue State, noting that his administration is actively working to restore peace and enable displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes.
Accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Sam Ode, several commissioners, advisors, and other government officials, Governor Alia urged traditional rulers not to compromise on matters of security.
In response, the bride and Ter Kunav, His Royal Highness Nyiyongo Achiaku, expressed gratitude to the Governor and his entourage for gracing the occasion. He extended thanks to the ECWA worshipping community, J.S. Tarka Way, Makurdi, and all attendees for their love and support. He concluded with a prayer for everyone’s safe journey back to their respective destinations.
