Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has removed former Nigerian international, Dominic Iorfa, from his role as Executive Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club in Makurdi.
The Governor has placed the club under the direct supervision of the Benue Sports Council and appointed a six-man board, chaired by Dr. Philip Nongu, to manage the team.
In a statement released on Saturday evening by his Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, the Governor ordered that all handovers be completed by midnight on Saturday.
The statement read: “The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has directed that, effective immediately, Lobi Stars FC will be under the Benue Sports Council.”
