Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, had a closed-door meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday, August 03, 2023. After the meeting, Governor Alia spoke with State House Correspondents, stating that the purpose of the visit was to address security and agriculture concerns in Benue State.
According to Governor Alia, Vice President Shettima has shown great passion for the state and has been a strong supporter of Benue. He emphasized that Benue is the food basket of the nation, and the state needs everyone’s cooperation and actions to further enhance food production and security.
The Governor acknowledged Vice President Shettima’s expertise in agriculture, expressing his belief that Shettima’s insights will contribute to the state’s progress in food production and security.
Additionally, Governor Alia extended his congratulations to Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano State, on becoming the new National Chairman of the APC at the recent APC Caucus meeting in Abuja. He urged the new party leadership to prioritize the unity of both the party and the nation.
