Gov Ortom condoles with singer Bongos Ikwue over wife’s death

Governor Samuel Ortom has on behalf of the Government and people of Benue State consoled the music legend, Bongos Ikwue over the death of his wife, Josephine Ifeyinwa Ikwue.

Late Josephine who was 73 before her death hailed from the Ijeh Royal family in Issele –Uku Town in Delta.

The Governor who led some members of the State Security and Executive Council on Thursday, August 11th, 2022 to pay the music legend a condolence visit at his Otukpo residence described the death as “painful.”

He particularly noted that having been married and lived together for over 58 years, he understood the pains and trauma Mr. Ikwue and other members of the family were going through.

Governor Ortom enjoined the music legend who he described as a leader and nationalist as well as other members of the Ikwue family which he is part of through marriage to be comforted that it was God’s will that allowed his wife to be taken this time from them.

The Governor encouraged the music maestro to be strong and comforted, saying God who brought them together as a couple and has taken her back to himself will grant him strength.

The Governor prayed to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and the deceased eternal rest.

Responding, the music legend, Bongos Ikwue thanked Governor Ortom for his show of love and humility in identifying with people in distress and prayed to God to bless him always.
