Gov. Ortom directs SUBEB to lift restriction on contractors

Governor Samuel Ortom directs the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, to immediately reverse the restriction placed on contractors who bidded for the procurement and supply of plastic tables and chairs for primary schools in the state.

Governor Ortom directs that no contractor whose bid is successful should be compelled by SUBEB to procure plastic tables and chairs only produced by Oracle Business Limited.

He states that the affected contractors must be allowed to procure the items from any company of their choice, provided that the quality of the products meets the set standard.

Governor Ortom says though he is no longer on the board of Oracle Business Limited, he founded the company, but has since banned it from bidding for Benue State Government contracts in line with his principles of transparency and equity.

He reaffirms the commitment of his administration to ensuring that every part of the state benefits from government projects and programmes.
