Gov. Ortom extends tenure of Local Government Caretaker Committee members

Tenure of the Caretaker Committee Members across the 23 Local Government Councils in Benue State has been extended for another six months.

Governor Samuel Ortom whose letter was sent to Benue State House of Assembly on Tuesday 3rd December, 2019 stated that the tenure ought to have been extended according to the law as the tenure of the Caretaker Chairmen is expected to end by December 18th 2019.

The Speaker Benue State House of Assembly Mr Titus Uba after reading the letter, put it in vote and members unanimously voted in favor of the extension of tenure. This follows after Rt. Hon Ben Ngutyor and the Majority Hon Ucha moved and seconded the letter brought in by the Governor.
