Gov Ortom speaks on hiring rickety trucks to convey police officers from Enugu (Video)

The Benue State Government has denied hiring truck to convey some graduating police officers from Enugu.

The government said it never made provision for the said truck as claimed in the video in a statement made by Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary, Tever Akase.

The statement reads below.

We watched a video trending on social media in which those who shot it were heard claiming that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom sent trucks to convey police constables from Enugu back to the state.

It is important to state that the Government of Benue State did not hire trucks or other vehicles to convey the police recruits to the state.

Governor Ortom only approved the request of the State Police Command for support, to enable it bring the constables back to the state from Nigeria Police Training School, Enugu. It was not the responsibility of the Governor to determine the type of vehicles the command would use for that purpose.

We find the said video as an act of mischief and deliberate attempt to cast the Governor in bad light.
